The Nevada Discovery Ride started in 2013, when I decided to ride my horse across Nevada. I had recently discovered the Long Riders' Guild, a group of equestrian explorers. I was inspired by their adventures and starting dreaming of having my own.
Back then, riding across Nevada seemed like a crazy idea. In fact, most people were not convinced that it was even possible! But we completed that impossible ride safe, sound, and ready for more. I had originally envisioned that ride as a one time adventure, but we have gone on to complete two more long rides across and around Nevada! |
What is Long Riding?
Simply put, long riding is just long distance travel by horse. It is not competitive or timed. There are no prizes. It is a personal journey, an adventure, and a challenge. |
